Engage on CleverAd: from lead to contract

From €156k of revenue in 2023 to over €1.59m in 2025: Engage tells the story of CleverAd's growth and why the goal is not generating leads, but winning contracts.

On 26 October 2026 Engage published an article about CleverAd: «from lead generation to conversion: how performance marketing is changing». The starting point is the numbers behind our growth; the subject is the one we care about most, namely what happens to a lead after it arrives.

Media investment managed every month

More volume, more complexity

Today we manage more than 20,000 leads and over 200,000 euros of media investment a month. Complexity grows with volume: channels with different logics, timings and metrics have to be planned and read together, without the data ending up scattered across separate reports.

As Engage puts it, for anyone in performance marketing growth depends on reading results in an integrated way: where the investment goes, which activities really work, how far results are in line with the goals agreed with the client.

From volume to value

An investment can bring in a great many contacts, but its value is decided later, in what those contacts become. The most delicate step is comparing advertising numbers with sales numbers. That is why our goal is not to generate leads: it is to win contracts, and to do that you have to follow the path all the way.

Technology as infrastructure

To make that path readable we built two proprietary assets. CleverAd Server™ tracks sources, clicks and leads and handles their attribution and validation. CleverAd Engine™, the evolution we delivered this year, uses that data together with data from the platforms and the clients' CRMs, to run acquisition processes fed by very different sources in a single environment and get to the real cost per acquisition.

Having the technology in-house means growing it alongside campaign volumes and needs, without depending on tools built for other purposes. And it means judging an activity by a broader yardstick than any single metric.

Systems that improve over time

Companies no longer ask only how many contacts came in, but how many became contracts and at what cost. The answer is not in a single campaign: it is in acquisition systems that can be analysed and improved over time. Every activity leaves data that helps set up the next one better, and what you learn on a channel, an offer or a piece of content becomes the starting point for the next project.

The article closed with our appointment at IAB Intersections 2026, on 28 and 29 October at stand 27, with speed dates: private meetings with the team to talk about goals, channels and costs. If you could not make it, let's talk anyway. The full article (in Italian) is on Engage.
